Lessons

ISR swim instruction is for children 6 months to 6 years with all one-on-one instruction. Lessons are conducted 5 days a week (Monday through Friday), at a maximum of 10 minutes a day, for approximately 6 weeks.

What your child will learn depends on his or her age and developmental readiness, but in all cases, at minimum, your child will learn to roll onto his or her back to float, rest, and breathe, and to maintain this position until help arrives.

Lessons We Offer:

We offer professional ISR self-rescue swim lessons and water safety programs designed to help infants and young children gain confidence, develop essential survival skills, and stay safer around water.

Aquatic Survival Instruction

Aquatic Survival Instruction is a focused training program designed to equip infants and young children with essential skills needed to respond safely in water-related emergencies. This instruction emphasizes practical survival techniques such as breath control, floating, and safe body positioning, helping children develop the ability to self-rescue if they accidentally enter the water. Every session is delivered in a calm, private, and supportive environment tailored to each child’s individual learning pace. Through step-by-step guidance and consistent reinforcement, children build confidence and physical awareness in aquatic settings. Parents are also guided on how to support and maintain these safety skills outside of lessons, ensuring continuous learning and improvement. The program is centered on creating strong, capable swimmers who understand how to stay safe and respond effectively in real-life water situations.

Isr Lessons

ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) Self-Rescue lessons are specialized, one-on-one swim instruction designed to teach infants and young children critical survival skills in the water. Each lesson is tailored to the child’s pace and ability, focusing on developing safe, confident responses such as floating, breathing, and self-rescue techniques. Our structured approach ensures children learn in a calm, supportive, and highly controlled environment. Through consistent, progressive training, ISR lessons build essential muscle memory and confidence so children can respond effectively if they ever find themselves in an unexpected water situation. Parents are closely involved throughout the process, gaining insight into their child’s progress and learning how to reinforce safety at home. The ultimate goal is to equip every child with life-saving skills and a strong foundation of water confidence.

S W I M Lessons

Toddler Self-Rescue Swim Lessons (Early Walkers ~ 3 Years)
Private, one-on-one toddler swim lessons in Boca Raton focused on teaching children how to confidently swim to safety—such as the wall, steps, or pool edge. If they are unable to reach safety within a short, safe distance, they are guided to roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe independently. Once recovered, they seamlessly rotate back into a purposeful swim to continue toward safety—or simply to enjoy the water with growing confidence.

Many students as young as 2 years old can begin learning underwater scoops or early freestyle movements, and many gain the confidence to independently jump from the three height levels available at Aqua Angels’ private pool.

These life-saving skills are taught with gentle, attentive coaching—fostering independence, resilience, and a deep sense of security in the water.
Let’s build your toddler’s confidence and independence in the water.

Survival Swimming Lessons

Refresher & Skill Advancement Lessons
(For students who have been out of lessons for 3+ months)
Personalized swim lessons designed to re-establish, strengthen, and advance each child’s skills after time away from the water. As children grow, their body proportions, strength, and coordination naturally change—making previously learned skills feel unfamiliar or less instinctive. In other cases, well-meaning but unintentional interference can disrupt established muscle memory.

These focused refresher lessons gently guide each child back to strong, reliable, and confident swimming—updating muscle memory, rebuilding endurance, and restoring independence in the water.

Refresher lessons are recommended for all returning swimmers and are typically scheduled as two or more consecutive weeks of daily lessons (Monday–Thursday) to quickly and effectively reestablish skills. Once consistency and confidence are restored, lessons can be thoughtfully spaced out into a maintenance schedule.

For families who prioritize water safety, returning for a refresher is not just helpful—it is essential. Consistent, accurate practice ensures that life-saving skills remain strong, dependable, and instinctive.

Most Aqua Angels families choose to transition seamlessly from refresher lessons into maintenance—creating a routine that supports long-term confidence, comfort, and a lifelong love of the water.
Let’s gently restore your child’s confidence—and bring their skills back to life.

For families who prioritize water safety, maintenance is not just beneficial—it is essential. Consistent practice ensures that life-saving skills remain strong, reliable, and instinctive, especially for young children growing up around water.

W A T E R Safety

Water safety education is an essential part of every child’s learning journey around aquatic environments. Our program is designed to help parents and children understand important safety rules, awareness techniques, and prevention strategies that reduce the risk of water-related accidents. We focus on building strong safety habits both in and out of the pool, ensuring families feel confident and informed in any water setting.

Through guided instruction and practical demonstrations, children learn how to recognize potential hazards, respond appropriately, and develop respect for water. Parents are also equipped with valuable knowledge to reinforce safe behaviors at home and during recreational activities. Our goal is to create a safer environment by empowering families with lifelong water safety awareness and essential survival mindset skills.

Rollback to Float

Generally speaking, children ages 6 months to 1 year learn the ISR Self-Rescue skill of rolling onto their backs to float, rest and breathe. They learn to maintain this position until help arrives.

Swim-Rollback-Float

With swim-rollback-float lessons, your child can swim underwater until they need to breathe, roll to their back to rest, breathe, and float until rescued by an adult.

Swim-Float-Swim

Older, more mobile children will learn the full ISR Self-Rescue sequence of swimming until they need air, rotating onto the back to float, then rolling back over to continue swimming. ISR students are taught to repeat this sequence until they reach the safety of the steps, side of the pool, or the shoreline.
